Marie Louise House, Romsey, Hampshire

Marie Louise House is a purpose-designed 46-bed home, opened in 2005, providing long-term nursing care. It is situated within grounds owned by the Daughters of Wisdom, near Romsey Abbey, in the centre of the market town.

The home incorporates the most up-to-date features and aims to fulfill the highest expectations for long-term care of the elderly. The Sisters have provided the financial resources for the home and they also provide support for the pastoral and spiritual needs of the residents. Hospital Management Trust (HMT) is the organisation registered to manage the home and provide staff and care services. This partnership ensures that residents at Marie Louise House feel that they are living in a homely atmosphere. The matron manager says:

“Marie Louise House is a home dedicated to the residents. We have a caring and respectful team, from the nurses through to the housekeeping staff. Each resident is listened to individually and is encouraged to contribute to the development of his or her own care plan. The input of relatives is also encouraged, in order to ensure the whole family feels a part of the resident’s continuous care.”
