Marie Louise House offers Nursing and Dementia care. Respite care is also provided depending on the availability of bedrooms.

Accommodation

All 46 residents’ rooms are en-suite and 3 of them have walk-in showers. All the rooms are single, light and are more spacious than is usual in care homes. Each room has television, telephone and internet connections and there is a comprehensive nurse-call system throughout the Home.

Residents are encouraged to bring with them personal decorative items to enhance the individuality of their room.

Staffing

Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours a day and all the care staff are trained to meet any specialised needs of residents. Particular emphasis is placed on training staff to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring atmosphere.

Reception is covered between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 3pm at weekends. The Financial Administrator is also available during office hours (Monday to Friday) to answer any administrative queries.

Hairdressing

There is a hairdressing salon in the Home especially designed with the needs of the older person in mind.

Medical & Allied Health Services

All residents’ are registered with a local GP and may wish to keep their existing GP if he/she falls within the Home’s catchment area. Monthly prescriptions are issued by the GP and he/ she is always kept informed of the residents’ condition.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is provided by staff from Romsey Hospital. This requires a referral by the resident’s GP.

Chiropody

A chiropodist makes frequent visits to the home.
