Acute Hospitals

St Hughs St Hugh's Hospital, Grimsby
Formerly owned by the Sisters of St Joseph of Peace, St Hugh's was the first hospital to come under the ownership of HMT. Following steady growth, it was redeveloped on a greenfield site in 1994. All rooms are ensuite and there are 31 beds, twin operating theatres and an extensive diagnostic and outpatient department.
Sancta Maria Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea
Sancta Maria is a 33-bed acute hospital. Prior to joining the Trust in 1988, it was owned by the Sisters of the Ursulines of Jesus, who continue their association through nursing and pastoral care. The hospital has a modern operating theatre suite and a wide range of outpatient services. Plans for its redevelopment are in hand.
Claremont Claremont Hospital, Sheffield
The Claremont was acquired by HMT in January 2001. Originally owned by the Sisters of the Institute of our Lady of Mercy, the hospital has 41 beds, 3 operating theatres and extensive outpatient and diagnostic facilities, including MRI and CT. Major refurbishment and upgrade is largely complete.

Care Homes

Coloma Court Nursing Home, West Wickham, Kent
A new 62 bed home, Coloma Court, opened in October 2006 in partnership with the Daughters of Mary and Joseph. Coloma Court replaces Wickham Court which was originally opened in 1994.
Hope Hope Residential & Nursing Care Home, Cambridge
The Sisters of the Holy Family of Bordeaux invited HMT to manage their 57-bed dual-registered home in 1999. The Sisters provide pastoral care and there is a close working relationship between the Congregation and HMT.
Alexian Alexian Brothers Care Centre
HMT took on the management of The Alexian Brothers Care Centre in January 2006. The home provides a range of facilities for older people. This includes a day care centre, residential wing and two nursing floors offering long-term and respite care for 62 residents.
Marie Louise Marie Louise House
Marie Louise House is a new care home which provides long-term care for 46 older people who require nursing. Opened in 2005, in partnership with the Daughters of Wisdom, the aim is to ensure that the residents’ quality of life is enhanced and that their stay is as homely and comfortable as possible.

Other Commitments

Consultancy Studies
In addition to the above portfolio, HMT also carries out numerous studies on a consultancy basis in both the acute and care home sectors for various religious orders and other charities. These can include management advice, strategic planning, feasibility studies and compliance with new regulations.

London Consultants' Association
LCA was established in 1998 to maintain the independence of private medical practitioners. It is run from HMT’s offices and has had up to 600 consultants in membership.

Federation of Independent Practitioner Organisations
Also run from HMT offices is the Federation of Independent Practitioner Organisations, an umbrella association for medical organisations including the major specialist associations, BMA, HCSA & LCA.
