Activity programme ...

Maureen Jackson photoMaureen Jackson is the Home’s activities co-ordinator. Maureen feels passionately that activities provided for the residents are an essential aspect of their care and puts a great deal of time, energy and devotion into creating a diverse activity programme at Coloma Court.

Regular outings are arranged to local places of interest, such as parks, garden centres, local museums, and The Bird of Prey and Animal Centre. We go out for pub lunches and take regular theatre outings including the pantomime.

During the summer excellent use is made of the garden and we frequently dine alfresco style.

Special occasions and birthdays are always celebrated. Christmas brings the carol singing season with visits from local school children and even the staff put on a carol singing show! The Home hosts a Christmas Bazaar and a summer fete known as the ‘Strawberry Tea’.

A wide variety of entertainment (averaging 4-6 times per month) is provided by musicians and entertainers who come to the Home. Examples include:

Singers and musicians (pianists, violinist, accordionist)
Karaoke
Magician
Musicals of Broadway shows
